Privacy

We take privacy very seriously, and are committed to protecting the privacy of our member and non-member participants.

All of our pages (should) automatically reroute from HTTP to HTTPS for enhanced privacy. You can read more about why HTTPS is important.

We don't use web beacons or cookies to track you. Our forum software uses a cookie to manage your logon. We don't integrate with social media APIs or use Google Analytics.

We do not automatically gather any personal information from you, such as your name, phone number, e-mail or address. This information is only obtained if you supply it voluntarily, usually through contacting us via e-mail, or registering in our Forum. Personal information that we collect is only used for Type 1 Together purposes. You retain the rights to your forum posts, however your posts may persist even if you close your forum account.

We make careful choices to minimize (and hopefully eliminate) data travelling outside of Canada and becoming subject to the laws of other countries.

Our site is hosted by the Vancouver Community Network (VCN) in Vancouver, BC. Consequently, we — and, therefore, you — are subject to VCN privacy policy. VCN's servers are physically located in the Vancouver Public Library. VCN server software receives and records the Internet Protocol (IP) address of the computer that has contacted our Web site. We make no attempt to link these addresses with the identity of individuals visiting our site.

We use a local installation of Vanilla Forums' open source forum software to provide forum functionality. Vanilla Forums is a Canadian company, based in Montreal.

We reserve the right to disclose personal information to a third party if a law, regulation, search warrant, subpoena or court order legally requires or authorizes us to do so.

If you identify a security or privacy concern with our website, please contact us.

These privacy expectations are subject to change. Updates will be communicated via the forum.
